Work...Blogs and Sleep
CTA/CAFAN web 2.0 development learning opportunity is a workshop being conducted at the University of The West Indies Cave Hill Campus from July 27th to July 31st 2013. This workshop focuses on blogging for the agriculture sector, and how to create effective, interesting and interactive blogs.
The first day of the workshop started with an ice breaker where we basically partnered up with the person next to us, introduced our partner and identified why we like agriculture. After the introductions were competed i realized that the room was filled with representatives of almost every caribbean country. After the introductions we got down to the nitty gritty, we went through the basics of what is a blog, why blogs are used and how to create a blog that captures the reader's attention and keep their attention, we also touched on RSS feeds and mapping.
The interesting thing about the timing of this workshop is that it falls the weekend before Crop Over which is Carnival season in Barbados, and many people that know me know that soca is in my blood, as interesting as the presenters were i struggled to keep awake... my own fault really as i got in at 7:30am and struggled to make it to UWI for 9am. Needless to say, after barely making it through to lunch, after eating the meal provided my new friend Janelle (my partner and fellow Bajan) was tasked with the job of keeping me alert. 5pm could not come fast enough for me. :-)
Fingers crossed with i will be able to be more focused today. Watch out blogging world... Camille is going to b armed with more info.
